COOKIE POLICY

How we use cookies.

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the platform is used. Here's the detail.

Last updated: June 16, 2026

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things between visits — like whether you're signed in, what your preferences are, or which pages you've visited.

The Ashton Standard uses cookies and similar technologies (like local storage) for the limited purposes described below.

The cookies we use

Essential cookies — These are required for the platform to work. They keep you signed in, maintain your session, and protect against certain security threats. Without these, you can't use the platform. Examples: authentication tokens, CSRF protection, session identifiers.

Functional cookies — These remember your preferences, like your selected role (worker vs restaurant), display settings, and which onboarding steps you've completed. They make the platform more useful but aren't strictly required.

Analytics cookies — These help us understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. We use Vercel Analytics and PostHog for product analytics. These tools are configured to respect Do Not Track signals and to anonymize where possible. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.

Error monitoring — We use Sentry to detect and diagnose errors. This involves capturing limited diagnostic data when something goes wrong, which may include your IP address and the page you were on.

Third-party cookies

Some of the services we use (Supabase for authentication, Resend for transactional email, the analytics tools above) may set their own cookies. These are subject to the third party's own cookie policies.

We do not allow third-party advertising cookies on the platform.

How long cookies last

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser
  • Persistent cookies stay on your device for the period set by the cookie (typically up to 1 year for analytics, up to 7 days for authentication)
  • You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings

Your choices

You can:

  • Block or delete cookies through your browser settings (note: this may prevent the platform from working properly)
  • Opt out of analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser
  • Use the platform in private/incognito mode to limit cookie persistence

To exercise any of these rights, you don't need to contact us — just adjust your browser. But if you have questions about how cookies work on the platform, write to hello@ashtonstandard.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform and our practices evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
